This team is a stand alone team that incorporates
all disciplines pertaining to DMORT. It's purpose is to decontaminate
remains from a chemical, biological, or nuclear event. This team
has its own budget, officers, and command structure as well as its
own equipment cache and a training center located in S.C. Some requirements
include; a letter of recommendation from the regional commander,
must have hazmat training, be in good physical condition, and be
a 100% team player. Until a position opens on the team of a particular
discipline, the applicant will be placed on a waiting list until
needed to fill the position. A member of this team does not have
to option of not deploying when called, all members sign a "contract"
that when called upon to deploy to a chemical, nuclear, or biological
incident that they will respond. This "contract" is expected
of all who join this team. A current passport is required with a
photocopy kept on file by the WMD team administration and license
as well as hazmat training must be kept current. Any member of this
teams understand that they are in a high risk environment when deployed
to an incident. A minimum of two training's with this team are given
each year and members are expected to attend. One training a year
may be missed with an excused absence from the team commander or
deputy commander before the member will be removed from the team.
